After you’re finished tidying up your home and car, make sure to clean up at your filling station and convenience store as well. Spring Break is right around the corner and then there’s summer vacation. If you want to keep customers coming through your doors all season long, it’s crucial you offer a clean and inviting environment. Start by focusing on three specific areas.
Clean bathrooms, counters, and food areas. Gas station bathrooms are notorious for being dirty. Why not make yours the exception to the rule? Clean the toilet and sink regularly; make sure products like toilet paper and toilet seat covers are stocked; and address leaks, flooding, and other plumbing problems in a timely fashion. Outside of the bathroom, make sure your floors, counters, and shelves are tidy and free of gunk. You have one chance to make a good first impression, so don’t let it slip through your fingers!
Stock outdoor kiosks. Drivers who are on lengthy road trips want to be able to clean their windshield whenever they fill up. Do you have squeegees at each of your pumps? Are they clean and soaking in the proper amount of fluid? Are the paper towels stocked? It’s little details like this that can make all the difference to your customers.
Powerwash sidewalks, parking areas, and walls. After a long winter, there’s no telling what type of grime has built up on your parking areas, sidewalks, and walls. Set aside a weekend to powerwash everything, and if necessary, repaint paving lines.
